Does giving blood help us lose weight? Is it really a fact, and not a myth? It is true that one of the benefits of blood donation is that it can burn calories regularly. Research conducted by the University of California, San Diego, states that someone who regularly gives blood will lose weight according to the volume of blood donated, because there are about 650 calories burned in the body.
